A Sheer Coincidence

November 27, 2008

A few weeks back, I happened to see a movie in Telugu called    “Sri Potuluri Veerabrahmendra Swami Charitra “ starring the legendary NTR, which was touted as one of the best social movies ever made. I would say that it was an Indian version of ” Prophecies of Nostradamus” . But the movie was very engaging and it was very educative. Most of the prophecies of Sri Potuluri Veerabrahmendra Swami and Nostradamus had great concurrence. It was only after seeing that movie, I developed some interest towards this book ( Prophecies of Nostradamus) To an extent, I had downloaded an ebook and tried reading it. Since most of the prophecies were in poetic form I couldnt understand them. Fortunately, I have downloaded a documentary of the same and watched it with great awe.

The movie showed the expression of Nostradamus prophecies in pictorial and poetic form. The book was interpreted by various historians across different parts of the world and most of the pictures were connected to the world events in the past. The pictures had a striking resemblance to most of the events that involved christianity. There were some shocking prophecies made in the book by nostradamus and even by Veerabrahmendra Swami that are yet to be witnessed by this world. The final interpretation that was made by most of the historians in the doicumentary after thoroughly analysing the book were that we people, living in the present day are on the edge of history and the world from now becomes destructive with a lot more hatred, loss of values leading to various natural disasters, loss of life and more comprehensivley, there are very tough times ahead.
After this I was totally immersed thinking about the prophecies. Just after I woke up today , My father who was watching the news told me that there was a terrorist attack in Mumbai and many people were taken hostages apart from very large number being killed. I really felt that was one bad Deja Vu . At 9 pm in the night on this letter day , the battle between the terrorists and the armed forces are still on and I hope the terrorists are nabbed as soon as possible without further loss of life. I can do nothin but only pray for the good and  watch all that thats happening on the TV.

Another main concern is that, In these times of distress, we need to back the armed forces and government in order to put an end to this disgraceful event as soon as possible. But unfortunately , all the opposition parties are using this to their advantage terming this as a failure of the government.

Most people argue what the intelligence was doing at this time. I really dont remember a single instance where intelligence traced what could be a major disaster . The american intelligence whihc was said to be the most effective, didnt have any clue of 9/11 attack on WTC and to tell you, their military heaquarters Pentagon was destroyed in the same. I really believe that even if the signs of any militant attack are visible, It is quite impossible to trace their movements in order to avert any major disaster. So we can only back the government to take the best measures to curb terrorism and its acts.

Lessons of Life from YAHOO

I got to see this msg after I logged into yahoo mash to see my profile how it looked after one of my frns created one for me…..

Is it going to be Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle ? no longer I bet..

Apart from yahoo mash,Yahoo mail taught me what patience is and thats possibly the reason y I got to wait with a lot of patience to read the mails I get from my kith and kin.

The number of times yahoo mail login has notified an error loading mail has taught me the lesson to be prepared for the worst for most of the time..

The most fascinating thing I felt by owning a cell phone was the SMS ( Short Message Service ) which I thought would be a great way to send a message or communicate ( without the usual How do u do stuff etc;) and some forward messages in the form of jokes and some updates on latest movies and of course live cricket score. And if used effectively , it is also a very good channel for marketing .

But nowadays, I happen to receive some forward messages which I think don’t deserve a better name than SHIT . Some of them which take the name of god and which says to forward the same to another good number of people to avoid bad luck. And to my horror, I received a message which says would extend the life of your loved ones if forwarded to eleven people or your loved ones will die in eleven days…

The above shows one such message..

What’s this shit  ?   The guys who send me such messages are educated , but I find this strange. I sent an SMS to the guy who send me the message and he reverted back saying that it was sentimental to him and he really cant avoid such things..

What’s the solution…I don’t know..But I’m deleting all such messages to stop the spreading shit.

Four Years Back……

September 20, 2008

It was almost four years back that I had to get into the shoes of a college student after completing my + 2 . I had great expectations of my college life and had various dreams about what my college life would be. Fortunately , I have got into mechanical engineering which I have a sort of affinity towards it because of my fascination for automobiles. Now that Iam in my final year of graduation I got to recollect most of the memories of my undergraduate education as I see many new students taking admission into our college . The day I took the admission for mechanical engineering  I was quite relieved as I was hopeful for the same and the very next day I had to report in my college. The night before the day I took the admission was a sleepless night with varied emotions of excitement and nervousness among many ( most importantly I had to get over my lethargy) . But the first few weeks in my college were a bit boring as most of my friends hadn’t had such a rapport or a bond of friendship. It was only during the college fest that we got really close to another and we formed a great bond of friendship. And the bond continued thereafter…..

Different students, different aspirations,  but one place COLLEGE…

My First day at college was  a very normal day. Made a few friends , feared of being ragged, wondered how the canteen would look like..of course how the girls in our college looked…

after four years, I must say there are a lot of sweet memories to carry forward, a college life is a must for all to learn and leap………..

RICH DAD POOR DAD

August 23, 2008

Last year Ive inculcated a good habit called reading.Unfortunately , I couldn’t carry it consistently bcoz of my lethargic nature. And also that I did not find any other book as engaging as five point someone . After that Ive started to read quite a number of books which I couldn’t complete and comprehend. Yesterday while I was in my favorite pastime, orkuting I happened to see a link that gave the audio book of RICH DAD POOR DAD which kept me occupied for an hour or so though I did not listen to the entire book, the contrasting points of view of the rich dad and poor dad in the book and the way it was projected by the author Robert Kiyosaki was commendable. Don’t mistake this for a literary review. Hope to express my thoughts on more good books in the coming days.

some appreciation

August 23, 2008

Some times it takes more than words to express something. Someone ,like me who has got a very low quotient of expression has to take some cues from this post for being able to express very clearly. The author’s clarity of expression without being pompous was commendable. Ive also seen through RGV’s blog and felt that his blog was directed towards a section of people. But he has an uncanny knack of expressing things that keeps the reader immersed.

IMPROVING SCENARIO

August 20, 2008

Today , Sushil Kumar made us proud by winning a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics. Undoubtedly, It is an achievement. But India which stands second to China in population doesn’t stand second to China in medals tally..Why?’

Ask the Indian Government for this..and you’ll come across a hell lot of politics that stand in between the way of the player and the medal..  And even in the print and electronic media where once upon a time we used to see the the status of the cricket match as the main headline in a news edition and cricket used to occupy the front page in the newspapers and magazines and some magazines extensively and exhaustively dedicated for the same…good for cricket..but not good for other sports..but slowly, I feel other sports are being seen on the same ground as cricket is seen these days..

Another reason why there aren’t many champions in the sports arena from India is that people especially a section of parents really cant see their son or daughter as an engineer or a doctor having a white collared job earning well…I hope this scenario in India changes for the better and I wish to see India shining in all the areas and should be on the world map for each and every positive development.

August 11 2007 was a red letter day in my life . It was the day I underwent a live related kidney transplant donated by my mother. I take this opportunity to salute my mothers’ infact , the whole of motherhood in this world for having such a compassionate heart . I wouldnt have lived now, in fact i wouldnt have been alive writing this particular post if my mother hadn’t been so kind. Kind is a big understatement but I cant help it as Im pretty poor at vocabulary. My 14 day stay at the hospital last year the same time had made me see what life is. I think it wouldnt be euphemistic if I say I was on the edge of a roof called life the same time last year.

During my recovery, I happened to know how the life of a kidney recipient would be and I was literally depressed for the fear of morbidity. But when i met other people of the recipient community, I began to think that god has been very kind to me for giving me a second lease of life in a situation where there was literally an exit. As I came back to normalcy , Ive come to know that many of my relatives, friends and some people who I dont even know prayed for my well being. Iam very thankful to all of them. Ive really made chill run through their spine..Im sorry for that…

Atleast from now, I hope to lead a disciplined life…….

Thanking my family and the almighty and the team of doctors who were god sent, I take leave…

Its the time when some of my friends aspiring for higher studies are leaving abroad to fulfill their ambitions. Its really heartening to know they have a goal in mind and they worked quite successfully towards achieving it. Most of them are leaving for the US of A and yesterday my good friend gowtham happened to start his journey to the land of Uncle Sam. A bunch of our friends spent some quality time with him before his journey and we all accompanied him to the Airport to send him off. My friend was all up for his visit to US and he had various ambitions apart from his academics. During the check in time, most of the aspirants who were about to take a break from the happy life that they spent in the company of their parents and friends were in tears at the time of check in. But Im happy that I witnessed a happy send off as he bade goodbye with a genuine smile. I really don’t know what kind of emotions would be running in the mind for the first timers with a hell lot of matters of their personal concern and a lot of obligations to fulfill in a literally No mans land and people say that Life in such conditions teaches you a lot and makes you a stronger person willing to take on anything. Im sure he would be back with flying colors and I wish all my other friends who are on a similar mission the very best of luck. So bidding good bye to them till I meet them the next time.

POWER OF IMAGINATION

June 28, 2008

While going through a number of other blogs,( which I keep doing all time) Ive found a blog called BLOGDHABA which was quite humorous and the jokes on marriage were very good. Given that I had a bad day the day I read the blog, the posts really made me smile a few minutes.

jus click at this place which i feel is a fine example of creativity. Folks, just sit back and enjoy this .

One confession Ive really got to make at this point as the thought of creativity has cropped up. before a few years, Ive thought myself to be one of the most creative writers and was over obsessed with the fact that I didnt get good opportunity. But after entering this blogosphere Ive got to admit that I stand nowhere when it comes to posting some stuff that entertains my readers( though I haven’t got any niche readers) . But Im thinking of posting humorous stuff that entertains people . Most of my posts have been a sort of preach me the rule kinda thing.

One fellow blogger rating my blog said that she would wait to read a post that a good prose, poetry etc; I must say I’m very thankful to her for her comment or suggestion ( whatever it is) .
